Artwork of the Day: “Populous,” by Craig Alan

Today’s showcased artwork is “Populous,” by artist Craig Alan, whose work you can look forward to seeing at Artexpo New York 2010. Earlier this week, we asked Craig Alan to share his thoughts on this image.

The “Populous” series, says Alan, is about “changing the perspective from which society view itself; from something ‘large’ to something ‘small’.” According to Alan, “Society views the human race with too much grandeur. In the grand scheme of things, we are just specs on a spec within a spec.”
