Echo Chernik's Art Nouveau Opera Poster Caper
Echo Chernik‘s artwork is a steal – literally. A few years back, the Cape Coral-based artist designed posters for Connecticut Opera’s ’07-’08 season, and after her first run of 300 posters for Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca, the posters began disappearing from stores around Hartford. The poster in question took Echo about 136 hours to create and boasts her signature Art Nouveau style.
The poster thefts made headlines throughout the area. Here’s a great news clip:
I’m delighted to say that Echo Chernik will be exhibiting at Artexpo New York 2010 this year, at Booth # 212 in our SOLO pavilion. Be sure to stop by and see Echo’s stunning work!
