Artexpo New York 2010 in Wall Street Journal
On March 28, 2010, Artexpo New York made headlines in The Wall Street Journal. Writer Lorraine Cwelich wrote about a group of artists at Artexpo New York 2010 who had joined together to help Le Centre d’Art, Port-au-Prince’s primary art museum, which had been destroyed in the January 12 Haiti earthquake.
At Artexpo, an exhibition of 50 paintings donated by Haitian artists, galleries and collectors was on display, and proceeds from sale of the paintings—which ranged in price from $125 – $3,500—went to benefit the rebuilding of the 66-year-old, two-story building.
