Artwork of the Day: Pop Heart by Josephine Boni
Today’s Artwork of the Day is a colorful piece entitled “Pop Heart” (60 x 60, acrylic on canvas), by Artexpo New York 2011 exhibitor Josephine Bonì. “Pop Heart” is a self portrait the artist painted in 2009.
Josephine Bonì was born in New York. She began painting in her father’s studio when she was just a child and went on to attend the School of Art in Palermo, Italy. She also attended the School of Art, where she earned a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature.
Well-rounded in the arts, Josephine studied music violin and ballet as well. After obtaining her degree from the School of Art, she moved to Paris to continue her studies on didactics/languages at La Sorbonne University. Josephine feels this was an extremely important step in her life as an artist.
Today, Josephine has participated in many international exhibitions and events, among the most recent: the group exhibition at Amart Gallery, Bruxelles and the International Exposition of Contemporary Art, Artshopping, Paris, Carrousel du Louvre. She has held many successful solo exhibitions, and her works are owned in many private collections in the world.
