Karen Venturelli is a Brazilian artist, born in Campinas. Today she lives and works in Minas Gerais. Brazil. She is the daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter of artists. After a long career as an architect she found in the arts her most authentic form of personal expression. She is the founder and partner of DOT – Design on Things, a surface design studio where she develops patterns and illustrations for the decoration, fashion, stationery and other industries. Her prints and drawings have illustrated products and collections across the country. In parallel and often in the foreground, her work as an author and in her personal art carrier continues to seek and find brilliant ways. It often shows human figures and birds appearing in her work through large format canvas and wood panels. Curious and extremely committed to her art, she explores various techniques and her series are usually marked by relevant meanings to the world in which she lives.
