At a rocky beach, Wei-ming Yuan explores the various ways of observing the surfaces of rocks. Starting with a realistic view, he gradually shifts his attention to the hidden visual world within the surface patterns. Sometimes the images reveal a spirit of traditional Chinese landscape painting, and in other cases, just pure abstract expression. In these images, the sense of scale and reality disappear; what appear are individual views filled with infinite imagination.
The Cave Lights are a subsequent series taken in the United States’ Antelope Canyon in Arizona.

The rocks sometimes shows its own picture, instead of rock itself. Every year as time goes by, it became the whole new place due to the wash of ocean and rain.
