Cristine Cambria

“As I write this Cristine is painting at her studio inspired by our recent trip to the Artexpo New York. Thankfully she’s filling the many commissions that were taken at this years show. To be surrounded by so much creative energy has a recharging effect on her, not to mention the NYC chaos that she some how bottles up and then lets loose on her paintings when she returns to her studio.
For us Artexpo New York has become a real “crossroads of opportunity”. Every year we do the show we get connected with the names of interested galleries, dealers, designers, buyers and of course art lovers from around the world. Cristine has a very special relationship with the people that love her work, who in many regards, we consider family.

Artexpo gives us the unique opportunity to connect and interact with them. One of the many great aspects of the show is that everybody brings their “A-game”. From the staff to the exhibitors everyone involved in the show are very serious and professional. It’s really an exciting forum that creates a space where big things can happen.
This year we were blessed to be surrounded by so many great “neighbors” at the show. We instantly developed a great relationship with the artists in the booths surrounding us who hailed from as far away as Israel and Ireland. There are even discussions with some of these artists regarding collaborations in the future.

Artexpo is not just about the sales at the show. We learned from last year’s experience that initial sales were only the beginning. It’s what happens after these connections are made that will keep us coming back year after year. Last year we did a sold out show in NYC’s Meat Packing district just two months after meeting the curator at Artexpo, this June a return extended engagement is scheduled. The contacts made are priceless and the opportunities grow with each passing year. The people that sign up for our monthly newsletter, in most cases, buy art at a later date and are collectors for life. Some people don’t even approach the booth during the show opting instead to take it all in “at a distance” then contacting the studio after the show.

For us the Artexpo New York has become one of our major “Highlights” of the year and we find the whole process of doing it extremely enjoyable. Of course New York City is and will always be in our opinion the greatest city in the world and it’s just downright exciting to have Artexpo there.

We’re looking foreword to next year, see you then!

All the best”
