“About 10 years ago I was told of an art show unlike any art show of the time. The show was called, Art Expo New York and I wanted in. At the time I was still discovering my own hidden artistic talents and was in no way financially or emotionally ready for an event of this magnitude. I was told Art Expo New York was a place were fine artist, Publishers of fine art, Gallery Owners and art lovers alike flourished. The show was known for making starving artist into famous artist.

Ten Years later on September 28, 2007 Art Expo came to Las Vegas, the place I call home and I was totally ready for the show. What I was not expecting was the overwhelming response and success I received from the show.

I was mainly known for doing commissioned only works of art in my hometown. The last few years I wanted to change the direction my art was going in and started doing limited edition pieces. I didn’t quite know how the public would receive my work so I made a conscious decision to make Art Expo Las Vegas the place to make my debut. I took a gamble and threw in the dice. No pun intended.

By the first day of the show, my staff and I sold ¾ of my work. By the second day, everything was sold. Considering the uniqueness, size and fairly high prices of my work I did not expect to completely sell out.

Because of Art Expo my work will now be showcased in galleries across the country. Before Art Expo, I was just a local known Las Vegas artist. By next year I will be an internationally known artist. This show takes the word NETWORKING to a whole new level.” — Dale Mathis
