As an Account Manager at RMG, Mark Shapiro is responsible for territorial sales, assisting exhibiting fine artists and fine art galleries in all aspects of the art show process.
Shapiro is a 2nd generation art professional from a family of New York City gallerists who owned and operated 19 Dyansen Galleries throughout the U.S.
Previously, Shapiro proudly worked as a fine art consultant for the Martin Lawrence Galleries. He considers selling original and limited-edition works by Warhol, Basquiat, Haring, Picasso, Chagall, and Miro a crowning achievement in his career.
In 1999, Shapiro joined Advanstar Communications, where he was a top sales executive for two major U.S. art trade shows, Artexpo New York and Art Miami. He created SOLO, a pavilion for independent artists that remains an integral part of today’s Artexpo New York. Seeing an opportunity in digital printing, he created and managed the Digital Pavilion, featuring exhibitors including Hewlett-Packard, Epson, and Canon, along with companies that created digital art consumables.
Now with 30+ years of experience, Shapiro is excited to be back in the art show industry. “There is a new generation of talented artists along with mid-career artists that need guidance and direction to enhance their careers,” Shapiro says, “I can help them.”
A father of two grown children, he is married and resides in both Connecticut and Florida.
