2019 LAUNCHPAD PROGRAM
The LaunchPad Program provides a young, unrepresented artist the opportunity to present a site-specific exhibition within the show. This curated program is open to up-and-coming artists who have demonstrated exceptional talent in their field of work and who want to make art their career.
The selected LaunchPad Artist will have the chance to exhibit at the show and will be featured on the website and included in publicity and marketing campaigns to collectors and media prior to the show.
Due to limited space at Pier 90 we are not accepting applications for 2019. If you are interested in applying for the 2020 LaunchPad Program, please check back in December 2019 for application details. Thank you for you understanding
2017 LaunchPad Artist
Madeleine Anne Cohen
Once a competitive ice dancer and currently an avid mountain climber and hiker, New York native and university student Madeleine Anne Cohen fuses her experiences in nature with her innate rhythm and knowledge of movement to create paintings that burst with life.
Inspired by the great Impressionists, Cohen devotes countless strokes to each detail in her landscapes, seeking, in her words, “to transmit to the viewer the feeling and intensity of nature, rather than the hyperrealism of its totality.”
“Through my art,” she continues, “I hope to encourage people to take a respite from their fast-paced lives by inviting them to step into my work and become one with the grass, flowers, mountains, and sky, allowing them to come home to the natural world that resonates within us all.”
Cohen is delighted to have been chosen as the LaunchPad Artist for Artexpo New York 2017, where she will be making her professional debut.
