Luis A. Maisonet is a accomplished painter and graphic artist born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Luis studied at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico where he obtained a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting and Silk-screening. Maisonet was the director of the Graphic Arts Workshop of the Department of Cultural Activities at the University of Puerto Rico, and currently, he is a faculty Member at the San Juan Art Students League. During his long career he’s been recipient of numerous awards and honors, has participated countless exhibitions, both solo collectively, in Puerto Rico, United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Germany, and Cuba.
He works have been found among the collections of several museums, including the Museum of the Americas, Museo de Arte de Ponce, Museum of Contemporary Art in Puerto Rico, the National Museum in Santo Domingo, Museo Nacional de Arte in Costa Rica and Museo del Barrio in New York.
