Heidrun Klimmey is a German printmaker and book artist from the Baltic Sea, the former eastern part of Germany. Born in Potsdam in 1964 and raised in Berlin with an education as a civil engineer, she switched her life into an artistic one. To live as an artist for her means more to be like she is originally.
Heidrun loves printing with hundred years old machines without electricity, the printing is a slow and meditative process. And she is printing with glass powder on steel before burning – named enamel art.
Squares and circles are universal forms with the most fundamental message; and this is the main theme of her work. She is a member of the State Association of Arts and Crafts in Mecklenburg/Vorpommern.
She has two adult sons, a cat and a husband.
