Rapt of The Sabines by Charles Sucsan

Booth #1000

Artist Statement:
It is my pleasure to send you the image of my latest creation: The Sabines kidnapping. Inspired by Roman history. This legend remembers the foundation of Rome when the Romans, they seized the girls of the Etruscan city, Sabine. Apparently, it ended up being a happy event for everyone.

After more than forty years I pulled out the drawing of a pile and finally realized this work that was in my mind ever since. Certainly, the style may be surprising, but over time this work will take its place in the Canadian art history.
Of course, the work is for sale, so we’ll see who will be the proud owner, but in the meantime it’s a pleasure to watch.
