Booth #112

Artist Statement:
I have explored a wide range of techniques and materials for my artwork.
In 1997, I fell in love with Glass, and the same year I took my first class.
I visited many different glass classes and eventually I could build up valuable technical knowledge, which gave me the freedom I needed to develop my own expression, mostly with the “Pâte de verre” technique. PATHOS, EROS, MYTHOS, EPOS, are the key words of my artwork, which evolves through the years with each of all those reflections.

Creating my own images, I fused them as ceramic digital images onto my glass surface. I create the pâte de verre reliefs white as a canvas would be and paint it with glass frits and powders and follow with multiple firing… LED light is added to some wall panels.

Those are some examples of my experimentations and desire to push forward my passion for glass as a medium, to always keep it alive and inspiring into my artwork.

On the NOW time, my reflection is to have Glass in a dialog with other mediums, while having my molds made from the same medium. Which would be Paper and sand. With the PRIMEVAL Series, my desire is to work on 2 basis mediums for a same theme, with 2 same material support for the technicality, PAPER and SAND.

Canvas with self-made paper and watercolor, paper with Glass fused multiple time in sand…Working on the symbiotic of Human and Universe with figurative expression and abstracted organism. The swirling of our emotions, desires, fears, strongly felt or subdued but still under our skin. The first echo reaching our consciousness freezes under the so well learned good behavior…there the heart runs frantic like a flock of birds, ecstatic with the wonders of beauty, of love, frozen with fear… from here start the ripples, the wild circle of what is happening after…I was amazed to discover how the universe was creating such identical swirling or frozen figures above unknown from everyone far away above us. I love the concept of the very intimate feelings of an individual, mirroring those of a breathtaking world from where we are from, the Universe…

“Where swirls the eddies of all times possible,The meaning of all things that may have been Or are, or may yet be?” James Allen
