Booth #202

Artist Bio:
Ruth Schleeh has been working as an artist for more than 25 years. 1986 marks the beginning of her artistic work. At that time, she combined her several-year stay in Belgium with her first artistic studies in charcoal and watercolor. Back in Germany she took private lessons fpr several years. She quickly developed her own distinctive technology.

Her mostly large-format, unmistakable works are a composition of surfaces, colors and lines that often draw the viewer into the picture. About her motivation to paint Ruth Schleeh says:

“I apply and remove color in many layers, so that I can bring the painting back to peace in the further processing. My paitings are like a mirror of life, not pleasing, but multi-layered. Multi-layered like life itself. Each overpainting questions the previous layer, which results in constant discussion. Large shapes contrast with small lines.”

Ruth Schleeh has been exhibiting her artworks at national and international exhibitions, art fairs and in galleries for many years, e.g. 2016 at Galerie Kunstraum Wien, 2017 at Galerie Kerstan, Stuttgart and at the Affordable Art Fairs in Milan, Brussels and London, 2018 at ART3F, Paris, ARTe 2016, 2017 and 2018, and the Affordable Art Fair Brussels. She is constantly represented in the galleries Galerie & Kunsthaus Nothboom, Göttingen and Sylt and Folly & Muse, Munich.
